Cet article se concentre sur les sources mameloukes qui ont évoqué les relations extérieures des Mamelouks d’Égypte avec le sultanat de Dehli en Inde, l’une des entités politiques les plus importantes du monde islamique avec laquelle ils ont entretenu des relations diplomatiques. Il restitue leur cadre général et les motivations de ce rapprochement entre les deux sultanats. Il étudie également le rôle qu’a tenu le califat abbasside dans ces relations.

This article deals with what Mamluk sources indicated about the foreign relations of Egypt’s Mamluks with the Sultanate of Delhi (India), one of the most important political entities in the Islamic world with which they maintained diplomatic relations. It examines their general framework, and the motives behind this diplomatic rapprochement between the two sultanates. It also studies the role of the Abbasid Caliphate in these relations.

يتناول هذا المقال ما ذكرته المصادر المملوكية عن العلاقات الخارجية للمماليك في مصر بسلطنة دهلي في الهند، حيث كانت هذه السلطنة من أهم الكيانات السياسية في العالم الإسلامي التي ارتبطوا معها بعلاقات دبلوماسية. ويهدف إلى رصد إطار هذه العلاقات العام ودراسة دور الخلافة العباسية فيها والدوافع التي كانت وراء هذا التقارب بين الطرفين.
